Ricardo Estevão
Ricardo Estêvão was born and raised in Santiago do Cacém, the official starting point of the Rota Vicentina. In 2008, driven by a deep love for nature and active living, he founded Vicentina Travel—a boutique tourism company based in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, Southwest Portugal.
With over 20 years of experience in outdoor sports, sustainable tourism, and trail development, Ricardo leads with purpose: to create unforgettable, self-guided hiking and cycling holidays that promote both freedom and environmental responsibility.
Operating year-round from Vila Nova de Milfontes, Ricardo has built Vicentina Travel into a respected name in active tourism. He specializes in designing and supporting multi-activity programs across the Alentejo and Algarve’s stunning southwest coast.
An expert in several disciplines—including abseiling, canoeing, hiking, and mountain biking—Ricardo originally worked in education before fully committing to the tourism sector. His work today fuels both the local economy and environmental stewardship.
As a trusted incoming agent, Vicentina Travel collaborates with leading tour operators across France, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and the Netherlands. Ricardo also served as a board member of the Rota Vicentina Association, helping shape one of Europe’s most admired trail networks.

Ricardo holds a degree in Sports and Active Tourism (2006). When he’s not organizing trips, you’ll find him enjoying the outdoors with his family and pets, drawing daily inspiration from the landscapes he helps protect.
